surrounded by fins...

So i was in work for 5:10 am , watched the sunrise over Kaikoura, stunning. We had 2 really successful swimming sessions today, and as we made our way back they appeared fin after fin after fin all belonging to Dusky dolphins of the coast of Kaikoura. approximately 300, all travelling in a huge pod. Other behaviour included back leaps, tail slapping, jumping and mating, lots of calves also visible. They swam amongst squat lobster lavee and jelly fish, the occassional new zealand fur seal drifted past with its flipper in the air basking in the sun,  in the sky flew white capped albatross, westlands petrel, white fronted tern, and huttons shearwater.
New housemate Steffie moved in which is nice, we headed to the 'dump' a wonderful world of recycling and swapping various household items, you can literally kit out a whole house for dirt cheap! all good when ur on a budget.
